The Toy That Saved Christmas

Can you believe that Christmas is almost around the corner? Yes, before you know it you won’t be able to go down to Bob’s store without hearing the Christmas music through the loudspeakers– and it’s not even Halloween yet!?!

You can’t see it, but my house was featured in this DVD! Well, my old house. Most of this show focuses on house #4, by if they’d just gone a couple houses down, to house #1, well I would have gotten my debut. Oh well.

This movie is all well and good. George is explaining the Christmas story by telling the story of Buzz Saw Louie, one toy made in Mr. Nezzar’s toy factory (he was saving up for his chocolate factory at this point) that suddenly gets a conscience and doesn’t believe that getting things is the true spirit of Christmas.

After escaping from the toy factory, he bumps into Bob, Larry and Junior who have just had a tumble in the snow. Incidentally, don’t ever play mousetrap with Bob. He lost my rubber band the last time that he was over and I haven’t been able to play it since!

Louie learns the true meaning of Christmas from George and then decides to tell everyone about it, by using Mr. Nezzar’s television station. They break in and get the message out, but not before accidentally sending our gang down a path where the bridge is out. There’s an exciting chase scene where Louie saves the day.

This is an action packed VeggieTales movie, though it is shorter than the newer ones– practically living up to that part of the theme song that says “half an hour”.
