Where To Go For Higher Education

I don’t know about you all, but I have some fruits in this house that are getting a little more ripe, and I have to start thinking more about their future, and where they should be getting their education. I mean, only the best vegetables and fruits find their way to the best tables in the country you know!

So I was interested to read an article the other day about something that someone had written on Twitter and it definitely had my head nodding in agreement.

I think this is one of the most underappreciated ideas that most parent’s don’t even consider. I mean, when I was growing up there were parents that sent their children to Christian school or camp to try to straighten them out. They didn’t stop to think that if most parents were doing that, they wouldn’t come out any better!

What’s worse is that the name “Christian” has gotten so twisted to mean things that used to be opposite of traditional Christianity that when their child comes out the other side with that piece of paper, they may also come out with a Christianity that their parents do not recognize!

That’s why it’s very important to do your homework on a college. You need to know not only its beliefs but campus life. One campus I visited as a teenaged plum told me that while there were rules on campus, there were always ways to get around them! Needless to say, I didn’t end up on that campus.

Best to get a feel for the different campuses, find out what they teach, and spend the time and money up front before committing to spending so much money on them.

Or, have them learn a trade, take online classes, or supplement their learning with a community college. There are so many more options for today’s parents, you just have to think a little more creatively than a generation ago!
